cranky baby + photo shoot = great pics(?!?)

A little tip for free: Don't schedule your child's shots on the same day as his/her first professional photo shoot.

*palm smacks head in disbelief/frustration*

BUT if you have a good photographer, all will be well.

Yes, Silas was Mister Crankypants Himself when I woke him up from his restless and short nap to get his pictures taken.  We had driven to Ohio early just to squeeze in this special one-year photo shoot, a very sweet gift from my mom.

As you may remember, we've done two photo shoots before, both by talented young ladies.  You may find them here and here.  However, this was the first time we (or rather, my mom) was paying big bucks for the pros.  Needless to say, there was a certain amount of pressure we felt...

Normal Silas is all smiles.  He hams it up for the camera every time.  But Mister Crankypants gave no smiles.  Well, hardly any.  Instead, he whined and fussed every time we put him down.  So.  Frustrating.  Nathan and I actually wound up getting our pictures taken, too, only because Silas was more likely to smile if he was being held. (This is my disclaimer for the bad hair I am sporting in the picture below...I had no warning whatsoever and had just spent some lovely moments in the pouring down rain.  Call me vain, but I just had to throw that in there...haha...Oh yeah, and poor Nathan actually had to borrow some shirts from the photographer, because all he had was a Miracle Camp T-shirt!)

BUT somehow, some way, Silver Sand Images, a home studio in Wauseon run by a husband and wife team, managed to capture some amazing shots. 

I can't even pick my favorite!  These are the only shots I've seen thus far; I'll post more if I can get my hands on the digital copies...Family, let me know if you have specific requests for ordering any of these.
