As most of you know, I loooove decorating our home. One thing to note about our home is the fact that we are on a VERY limited budget and have generous friends and family. Another thing is the that our home is a work in progress...There are a lot of things about it that I don't love, but I make small changes, one at a time, rather than spending thousands of dollars to overhaul a room in one shot. Lastly, we live in an apartment and have no idea how long we'll be here. Hence the white walls, ugly light fixtures and blinds, etc. It just doesn't seem worth it to us to spend tons of time and money fixing up the place when we might be moving as soon as summer.
All that said, I DO really like our home. Especially the living room, which I think is great mixture of homey and fun.

See those pillows with the big dots? They kind of gave me the inspiration for the direction our living room would take. When we first got married, I started out thinking I would decorate in a very Mature and Sophisticated way, with earthy green and brown tones. But when I found those pillows at a random garage sale for $2 each, I decided to stop kidding myself and add some BRIGHT and FUN to the mix. That's when orange entered the scene. So here's what you see in this shot:
Sectional and coffee table: free gifts from DC church friends (Before that, we spent about 2 months in our first apartment with nothing in our living room except one chair!)
