shakespeare + a new trick

This past Friday night, Nathan and I enjoyed a 50-year-old Louisville tradition--Shakespeare in Central Park.  Pretty much all summer, the Actors Theatre puts on Shakespeare plays for FREE on an outdoor stage.

Lots of people turned out for the performance, many bringing their own snacks & drinks.

The funny thing was, we got the schedule mixed up and thought we were going to see The Tempest.  So we did our homework and printed off a synopsis at home, read it aloud in the car, and thought we were prepared.  It was only when the play was about to start that we realized we were actually seeing Richard III.  But thankfully, it was pretty easy to follow!

Enjoying the scenic park setting.

Waiting for the performance to start.

Can you tell I'm digging the color accent setting on my new camera? :)

We LOVED the whole experience.  The acting was excellent, the plot was engaging, and the weather was perfect.  We're hoping to get another babysitter in the next few weeks so we can do it again!

And last but not least, I wanted to post a video to show you what Silas has been up to...
