3rd of july festivities

Last Saturday, we discovered just how cool our neighborhood really is.  We had heard rumors about some sort of "art show" on Frankfort Avenue, along with a parade.  So we walked over to check it out.  On the way, we saw this house for sale that we thought we'd probably buy. :)

Silas is still getting used to mornings out, since he is in the process of dropping that morning nap.

The art show was held at the "PD House," a mansion that hosts many of the neighborhood's activities throughout the year.

The setup and wares really reminded me of Eastern Market in DC.  I personally would have titled this event the "Artisans' Market" rather than the "Art Show."

Two of my favorite booths.  First, painted and distressed wooden art.

Second, handmade pillows by "Donna Lou."

I enjoyed a corn dog from one of the many food booths, and there was some really fun jazz/swing live music on a nearby stage.  I think Silas' favorite part was this music booth for kids.

We then enjoyed a parade right by our house.

Okay, Louisville...you're growing on me. :)
