- Height: 29 3/4 inches- 10-25th percentile
- Weight: 21 lbs 8 oz- 10th percentile
- Head Circumference: 19 inches- 75-90th percentile (I guess he's a little top heavy? haha)
- Dr. Sturgeon is very pleased with Silas' progress in his motor skills. He said that as long as Silas is walking by 18 months (which seems likely) he has no further concerns.
- For once, I actually got to answer "yes" to most of the developmental questions.
- Silas' liquid intake is A-ok, even though he's only getting about 10 oz of milk a day. The most I can do is offer it to him; I can't force him to drink.
- Silas is unusually tolerable for 15 months. When he walked in, Dr S. informed me that this would probably be a very unpleasant visit, because most 15-month-olds cry and fuss throughout their checkups. But Silas thought Dr. S. was playing with him the whole time and loved it.
- Silas still hates shots.
- The air conditioning in our pediatrician's office isn't real effective.
- It's okay to let your kid crawl around on the tile floor until he gets bonked in the head with the door when the nurse walks in.
By the way, we're starting Silas on speech/oral motor therapy this week. Mostly because we want him to feed himself more efficiently, but we're also hoping he'll learn a few words through the process.
I'm looking forward to this three-month break from the doctor's office!
Glad he's improved so much! How's he doing with signs, by the way? Simeon knows a few, but sometimes he seems to pick a sign-of-the-day and just sign it all the time... lately he's been pumping his fist repeatedly to sign "milk" when he wants anything but milk! :-)
ReplyDeleteSi does please and all done consistently, but that's it. We'd love for him to pick up on more; I think it's mostly my fault for being inconsistent with them. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for the good reports! How comforting to know that the little guy is moving right along. Jerek was always in the 90th and above percentile for head circumference, we just told him God gave him big brains!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with therapy, I will continue to keep all 3 of you in my prayers!
