catechism with your kids.

I think using something like the Westminster Shorter Catechism with your kids is an awesome way to fix truth into their minds even at a young age. Even though they certainly don't understand it at first, bits of it will begin to make sense as they get older, and hopefully they will remember it for a long time! This is what we've learned so far. The words are below so you can understand what he is saying. :)

Q. 1. Who made you?
A. God.

Q. 2. What else did God make?
A. God made all things.

Q. 3. Why did God make you and all things ?
A. For his own glory.

Q. 4. How can you glorify God?
A. By loving him and doing what he commands.

Q. 5. Why ought you to glorify God?
A. Because he made me and takes care of me.

Q. 6. Are there more gods than one?
A. There is only one God.

Q. 7. In how many persons does this one God exist?

  1. I just showed this to all my friends. They LOVED it. Possibly one of the most precious things I have ever witnessed.

  2. I agree with Alyssa - so precious. Especially when he boldly proclaimed "there is only one God!"
