I had the best birthday last week. First of all, the Lord was really kind to give me sunny, 80-degree weather on my birthday, which is NOT something that usually happens. Normally my birthday is windy, rainy, and cool. My husband did such a great job of making me feel special. He took care of the kids in the morning and let me sleep in...all the way to 8:00! I remember when I considered that early. :)
Then he told me to get ready, and soon I heard a knock at the door. A sweet friend came over to watch our kids so we could go out to breakfast at my favorite "posh" place in L-ville. Blue Dog. We split the morning glory muffin, quiche with broccoli and goat cheese, and poached eggs on prosciutto with spinach. YUM. What a way to start the day.
While N went to work he left me with a free drink card at his coffee shop, so you better believe the kids and I took a long walk in the sunshine to pick up my free iced carmelatto. And a chocolate chip scone for the kidlets.
Finally, we picked up Papa Johns pizza for dinner and headed to Cherokee Park for a picnic.
Then of course we had to hit up the playground.
Ivy wouldn't stand still for a second so I could get a good shot. She was all over the playground!
Best birthday ever. Lots of time in the sunshine with people I love, plus good food. What more could a girl ask for?
