Poor Silas.
He started breaking out in awkward-teenagerish acne on Monday. It has only gotten worse since then. I read that 3 weeks is the normal age for this phenomenon, and it's more common in boys than girls. So I guess Silas is right on track. Supposedly there is nothing for one to do but wait it out for a few weeks. I know this sounds really vain on my part, but I'm sad that he will probably still have acne when he meets Nathan's family for the first time next week. :(
Also, he has had majorly gross and massive spit-up sessions three times now. The last one happened in ladies' Bible study this morning, and a few of the women informed me that he probably has reflux. This makes sense to me, because Silas sometimes cries while he's eating. I thought maybe it was gas, but it is probably his little throat burning from the acid. He doesn't normally fuss or spit up at all; these facts also make me think something is up. Anyway, I'm going to ask the pediatrician about it. I've heard that it's best to catch it early and deal with it...They have this medicine called Zantac (sp?) that we might have to wind up putting him on. We'll see...
No pictures today. Sorry. I'll try to have more to post next week...

Nathan & Jess,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all congratulations on the birth of Silas. He is such a beautiful baby!!! I have been following your blog since Silas was born and have enjoyed all the pictures. Your entries bring back so many memories of being that first-time Mom. Anyhow, Silas is a very blessed little boy to have the two of you as parents. And please know that at anytime he wants to come and jump on the trampoline (when you are visiting Great Grandpa & Grandma Wilson) - he is more than welcome, just like his parents! :) Much love and blessings to all three of you! Bob, Joan, Jacque & Kellen
P.S. Kellen had the same thing with the baby acne. Trust me - it will go away! It only lasts about two-three weeks.
