Silas continues to be an incredibly sweet, sleepy, and predictable baby. We still have to wake him up for every feeding, including the middle of the night. However, he wakes up much more quickly and is becoming a good eater. Sleep continues to be his specialty, however...He has slept for 5 hour stretches for the past 5 nights, and I have to wake him up to eat after 5 hours!
My mom is still here; she leaves Wednesday. It has been absolutely wonderful not to have to worry about cooking, cleaning, dishes, laundry, etc. Mom says I don't need her, but I really do. Even thought Silas has been easy to take care of, I have needed lots more rest than usual and wouldn't be able to keep up the house on my own. Thankfully, the church is taking care of meals after Mom leaves, and then Mom Sandy is coming...I won't have to cook for at least another month or so.
Silas is just over 8 lbs. now. The pediatrician was very encouraging and pleased with his growth. His double chin is getting more prominent every day. :)
I had my own check-up today. The incision is healing wonderfully. I have lost 21 out of 40 pounds, but I still have a long way to go. (I was able to button some non-maternity pants today, which was very exciting. :) ) The doctor recommended that I try to deliver vaginally in the future; my C-section situation shouldn't prevent me from having natural deliveries later.
Aunt Cassie. Many of these close-ups are from her superior photography skills.
