happy birthday, silas!

We are so thankful for the Lord's kindness in giving us the gift of our son three years ago today. The amount of joy that he brings us is beyond words. We have loved watching him grow and change, and seeing his little personality develop. Words I would use to describe our boy at three years old:

• Affectionate- This kid gives us so many hugs and kisses, it's unreal. He gets this really intense look on his face where he purses his lips and you know it's coming. It is the sweetest thing ever.
• Sensitive- Silas is very attuned to his own feelings, as well as the feelings of others. If we are upset with him it really affects him. He also gets very worked up when he sees his little sister get disciplined.
• Joyful- I don't know anyone else who laughs as hard as he does.
• Organized- Silas loves routine, structure, predictability...sometimes to an unhealthy extent! But I hope this trait will serve him well in the future.
• Bookish- Our son loves reading books, and he loves learning about letters and the sounds they make. I hope this trait continues and makes him a good thinker!

We continue to pray that the Lord would cause Silas to see his need for a Savior and would open his eyes and heart to the truth of the gospel!
