peanut's unlikely replacement

Silas has this really cute blue elephant named Peanut that he likes to eat--I mean--sleep with. While sucking on his ears, trunk, and feet. Gross, right? I do wash him occasionally. He has been a sleepmate for Silas for many moons.

But lately, Silas has preferred a different kind of cuddle buddy. Namely, a book. The title changes nightly, but it usually has to be a "big boy" book; none of the board books will do. He chooses his book before going to his room, and sometimes we have to locate said book, which may have wound up in a strange place during the day. Then, when we offer Peanut we receive an emphatic "No. No." So we usually stick the elephant up by his headboard in case he changes his mind and needs a midnight snack--er--cuddle.

We have a true nerd on our hands.

  1. Hehehe, this made me giggle. I didn't see the last line coming. :) I feel bad for poor neglected Peanut. :)
