We have officially made the transition to make room for the baby. Actually, we put Silas in the bed right after we got back from FL (Jan. 8), thinking it might take a month or so for him to get used to it...but we were wrong. He slept through the night the first night! He has fallen out twice, but didn't get any bumps or bruises...and he has only gotten out of bed once! He always lies there in bed when he wakes up as though he doesn't realize he could get out...sometimes he lies there and talks to himself for 45-60 minutes in the morning with his music on (while his lazy mama sleeps a little longer). We are so thankful for how easy this has been and only hope it lasts!
I got his bed at Target (thanks Mimi) and all of his bedding AND mattress at IKEA (thanks Mimi and Grandma). His room looks totally different...We moved out the bench and the bookshelf to make more room. I'm amazed at how spacious it is now for two kiddos.
Oh, and look at this cute pockets I found at IKEA! The perfect size for storing diapers, two to a pocket! And very space efficient. Silas' are on the bottom, and baby L's are on top. (Thanks, Gjyshja, for the extra diapers!)

ReplyDeleteAww, what a great little (big) guy! I've been wondering how much longer we should wait to put Sim in a bigger bed, too. I'm glad to see it went so well for Silas.

ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to ask you if you ever finished The Count of Monte Cristo. Brad and I decided to make that book a joint reading goal for the year. We're going to start reading it in the next month or so.
