hooray!

We did it! All the baby's "stuff" is organized, put away, and ready for him to arrive! This entire process has made me realize two very important things:

1. I have the most wonderful, helpful, supportive husband EVER.
2. It really IS possible to cram a baby and all his gear into a tiny 1-bedroom apartment.

Here is the baby's Pack 'N Play with the bassinet and changing table. Very very ideal for our situation. Ladies from our church went in together and bought this for us! It is located in the living room and is where the baby will sleep at night. He will sleep in our bedroom during the day, either on some blankets on the floor or in his infant seat.
This is an IKEA bookshelf that we found on craigslist and added to our bookshelf collection in the hallway. A tight fit, but it gets the job done. Books, toys, diapers, and all his lovely handmade blankets will be kept here. Oh and it's hard to see in the picture, but we covered the back of the bookshelf in the fabric that matches the other piece you will see below...
And here is my personal favorite, one that may seem oddly familiar to some of you: a cabinet thing Nathan made in junior high that we have successfully converted to baby furniture! This thing used to be quite unattractive, 80's wood grain and brass hardware...But my wonderful husband sanded it down, painted it white, and installed new hardware! It took forever, and I must say that I'm glad to have him around again in the evenings. :) We added some red and white striped seersucker fabric, and...tah dah! A wonderful piece that will match his future nursery (in the living room for the moment).

I just got the car seat inspected at the DMV yesterday...so our very very last piece of the puzzle is our Phil & Ted stroller! We ordered it on Saturday from our local baby boutique, and it should arrive any day now...After that, we will really simply be waiting around for Baby to come! Of course, we are finding many fun things to do to keep us busy in the meantime...like taxes and sermon preparation. Oh no, just kidding! We really are doing fun things like going for walks, hanging out with other couples, and trying to keep our schedule as busy as we can handle so we don't get too antsy.
