37 weeks.

This pregnancy has flown by. I keep having to remind Nathan (and myself) that we are having a baby. Like, soon. The reality of it has started to set in a little more in the last week or so, since I am having major trouble sleeping at night...You know, one side will start to be sore, so I roll over. Then that side gets sore, so I try rolling over again. But that side is still sore from the first time. So I'm super uncomfortable the rest of the night. Bleh. I think it's the Lord's grace that our bodies get so cumbersome these last few weeks. It really does prepare me for the baby's arrival and makes me look forward to that day even more!

God really sustained me during these last several weeks. I painted like a crazy woman. I unpacked like a maniac. I stayed up late and didn't die of exhaustion the next day. But now that it's over I feel. so. tired.

Nothing much is going on at this point but Braxton Hicks contractions, which I've been having since like week 26. When I went to the hospital a few weeks ago after my graceful fall down the stairs (long story), I was already 1.5 cm dilated, which surprised me. But I'm fully expecting to go past the due date with this one. My doctor here will let me go up to 42 weeks as long as everything looks okay!

I can't wait for this baby to get here. Not just for physical relief, but because I'm really getting ready to meet him! Silas is really getting excited, too. He keeps asking me if the baby is here yet and when can he go to the hospital to visit. (The hospital has an elevator, so that may be more of a draw than the baby at this point.)

By God's grace, I think I have been more faithful in praying for this little one than I was for my first two. Things I am praying for (feel free to join me!):
  • That the Lord would choose to draw this baby to himself, convict him of his sin, and open his eyes to the mercy of the cross. Preferably at an early age!
  • That this baby would come at just the right time, and in just the right way (C-section vs. VBAC).
  • That this baby would be a GOOD NURSER. (Unlike another little baby of the female version I used to know.)
  • That this baby would be extremely chill and willing to go with the flow in our crazy household.
  • That the Lord would give Nathan and me wisdom as we become parents of 3. Outnumbered!
