fit and oh-so-fashionable.

Say so long to the first trimester...I'm now well on my way into the second!  17 weeks tomorrow.  My second doctor's appointment was on Tuesday.

And now that I'm in the second trimester, I'm trying to stop giving myself excuses for not exercising.  Yes, I still feel like falling over dead when I don't get a nap by 3 pm.  And yes, I still gag occasionally when brushing my teeth or changing nasty diapers.  However, the nausea is gone.  So I need to do what I can to prevent the serious weight gain from happening once again (42 pounds with baby #1).

What do I do for exercise?  Well, sometimes I walk.  But it has been HOT around here, so unless I am really motivated and walk early in the day, it doesn't happen.

So I ordered this fantastic Prenatal Workout DVD.

Looks like a winner, right?  My obsession with getting the cheapest product out there often results in very dated workout DVDs.  You see the word "Classic" at the top of the case?  That means it is like 20 years old.  I bet my mom did this workout when she was carrying me.  (Mom?  Is that true?)

A little snippet for your enjoyment.  Don't watch the whole thing, you can get the idea from just 10 seconds or so.

Amazing, right?

So if you're having a bad day, just picture me doing these moves in my teeny tiny living room, tripping over Silas and wishing I had a full body leotard.  (If you didn't notice the full body leotards, you must watch the above video again.  They are incredible.)

You know what, though?  I kind of like the workout.  It isn't very hard, but I'm not supposed to be working that hard.  I'm pregnant, people.  And I was definitely sore from the leg/arm exercises.

Did I mention the ladies perform a rap called the "Prego Shuffle" about halfway through?  It's worth buying just for that.

  3. Awesome! If you end up hating it let me know, I have a pregnancy work out DVD collecting dust by the TV. It is modern and doable. I would be happy to send it to you for free. :)

  5. So funny, Jess! We need to catch up! I'd love to hear how you like the DVD. At 24 weeks, I'm trying to get by with walking and a bit of swimming but it's all getting really hard as my little guy grows.
