Gjyshji and Gjyshja came to visit for a few days last week. It was wonderful to have them in Louisville for a while before they had to make the long trip back to Albania. Neither of them had seen our apartment in Louisville, and Dad had never even been able to visit our home since we've been married, so it was really special to have them there. I think their main motivation in coming might have been the small towheaded creature who lives with us...but they were happy to spend time with us, too. :)
It snowed and snowed and snowed while they were here, but we didn't let that stop us from having a good time. We went out to eat at Buca di Beppo's (YUM) and even made it to the zoo one day! Papa and Mimi got us a zoo membership for Christmas, and we (well, mostly me) were just itching to check it out. So we braved the ice and snow, only to find that most of the animals were off exhibit. (Of course. It's freezing cold January.) But never fear! The aquarium/reptile building was all we needed to enjoy ourselves. I wasn't really sure if Silas was old enough to get into it, but I had a hunch that he would like it, based on his reaction to Mimi and Papa's dog at Christmas...And I was right! He LOVED the fish especially, as you will see (or rather, hear) in the video below. And I'll admit, the rest of us had a pretty good time as well. Do you know there is such a thing as an albino alligator?!?
This was his face the whole time while we were looking at the fish. :)
No, this is not a garden statue. Meet King Louie, albino alligator.
Enjoying the tropical rainforest in January.
I LOVE Silas's "surprised" look in the family pic :) You guys are one adorable family!
