Christmas was extra special this year for our little family of 3. It all started on Thursday, Christmas Eve, with our own small family Christmas...I made a brunch that consisted of egg casserole and a raspberry cream cheese coffee cake. Both turned out yummy, but I am sad to say that the first coffee cake didn't make it. (May it rest in peace.) I left it in the oven for around 2 1/2 hours. Oops. Darn that old oven with no timer. I cried. Seriously. Thankfully, I had enough ingredients to make a tiny replacement. :)
Nathan enjoying his brunch.
Silas playing while Mom & Dad eat.
"Gee, thanks, Mom! I always wanted a turquoise penguin ornament!"
We got Silas this wooden push walker from Melissa & Doug. He was pretty much past his prime, desperately needing a nap...
I got Nathan this old book called "Prayers of the Reformers" that he thought he'd never own, since it's out of print. He got me the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice. Part of the gift is that he will watch it with me. Hehe...
We had an awesome time in Ohio with our families. I sort of pooped out with taking pictures around Sunday or Monday, so sorry about that. Maybe someone will share pics with me so I can post more of the Lugbill side...? :)
Christmas morning with the Becks always involves china and pajamas.
We went up to Detroit to spend time with Nathan's Uncle Dave, Aunt Joyce, and cousins. They acted out the Christmas story, complete with costumes! Here are Mary, Joseph, and the donkey.
This shepherd had a little trouble keeping a straight face. Notice the very small lamb she is holding.
And of course, the star of the show, Baby Jesus! He just laid there looking a little bewildered during the whole performance.
Grandpa John and Cassie entertained us and put us in the Christmas spirit by serenading us with Christmas carols for a while. :)
Don't break the ice!!!
Deep in lively conversation.
Silas meeting Sam, best man in our wedding. He has a thing for facial hair.
Nathan's favorite moment of Christmas break: laughing with Silas at that silly racetrack.
Ready to cheer on the Bucks at the Rose Bowl!
We finished off the week with the marriage of Ben & Lindsay Glynn. What a gorgeous bride!
And now for your viewing pleasure, I thought I'd throw in a pic of Silas after he gagged himself with the parrot's wing and puked up his dinner.
Stay tuned for an account of our first trip to the emergency room...
The funniest Picture is Silas beeing Baby Jesus in Detroit! How funny. And the last one is such an nice idea to end the post!
ReplyDeleteHope you will have a wonderful Year!
Much greetings from Germany.
(Did Lisa share some of the chocolate?)
