little eden

After spending a week with Nathan's family in Ohio, we headed up to Little Eden in Onekama, MI for vacation with my family. It was a fabulous time of relaxation, good talks, and lots of game-playing! We are a competitive bunch...I'm trying to learn to temper my desire to win with a desire to keep my marriage from jeopardy...hehe.
Enjoying an afternoon stroll at Lake Michigan.

Silas is finally getting to the point where he can open his eyes while outside. I feel a little less mean taking him to the beach when he can actually see. :)

The girls.
The boys.

Family picture!

5-Generation pic: Great-great Grandma Meredith, Great-Grandma Neva, Papa, Me, and Silas. Just wish Grandpa Garold could have been there...He would have loved this!

On our way back to Louisville, we got to stay the night with Justin and Sara. It was so fun to hang out just as couples! Unfortunately, the only pictures I took were just of Silas (big surprise there).
Here is a funny sequence of Silas feeling Daddy's face with much concentration.

The grand finale: a super cute smile! We get these all the time now, and so does any stranger who talks to Silas. What a fun stage!

  1. First of all, I love the bathing suit! I didn't yet get one but probably will next summer.
Second, I just read a bunch of these posts and love reading about Silas! It's fun to see what we have to look forward to in the coming months! (Simeon is 2 months today.)
Third, the mention of the German exchange student reminded me of when I was an exchange student in Germany during a summer in high school - my host brother's name was Silas :-) (Pronounced much differently than how I assume you pronounce it, though.)
