And yet another weekend has flown by. Friday night we went for a family stroll after dinner and then watched an episode of Bleak House (BBC- Dickens novel brought to life- really good acting, great character development. We're both pretty into it. Shhh...don't tell Nathan I told you.) Saturday Nathan helped our good friends, the Grusys, move into their new house. That night, we did a little shopping (I bought Silas some CUTE pjs and some little corduroy shoes...love buying things for my tiny little man. It's so great to not feel guilty buying new clothes for him, since he actually NEEDS bigger clothes every few months. Hooray!) and then watched some more Bleak House. Today we visited Kenwood Baptist Church (more below), took a nice Sunday nap, and then checked out Sojourn (they do church services at morning and night). Then, what do you suppose we did? You guessed it...watched Bleak House. We may be addicted. (Thanks, Liz, for your recommendation.)
Kenwood Baptist Church was a little further away than other churches we've visited (about 25 minutes when you subtract extra time for getting lost...which might have happened this morning), but it was well worth the trip. It's a rather small congregation with a good number of very sweet elderly folks and also quite a few young couples/families...kind of a church revitalization effort which the Lord seems to really be blessing, by his grace. The fellowship was sweet (potluck every Sunday!), the preaching was solid, and the music was enriching to the soul. We were very blessed, but our dilemma in choosing a church just keeps getting more difficult. Keep praying that we would have wisdom!
Silas was in a fantastic mood tonight. He had Nathan and me in stitches while we were getting his pjs on...he was laughing so hard and was just so darn cute that we stalled putting him to bed for like 10 extra minutes. I keep telling Nathan I don't want him to grow up any more!!! I love this stage! And then the next moment he demonstrates some sort of developmental advancement and I cheer ecstatically. I don't know my own mind...
I have two brief confessions to make:
1. I have now given Silas two haircuts, the first being when he was like 3 months old. A very close maternal relative of mine who will remain nameless thinks this is ridiculous. I do not, since it has spared my son from looking silly.
2. Speaking of hair, I am now a brunette and have been for several weeks. I apologize for the lack of documentation (Jennifer), but guess who takes all the pictures in this family..?
We realized we had better get a picture of Silas in his Indians uniform before he grows out of it...So here we have a little father/son pow-wow. I thought this picture was really cute, but...
Nathan wanted me to take another one where you can see Silas' uniform better. :)
:) even after making a note of it you still leave me hanging with a lack of pictures... just give Silas the camera and tell him to start snapping down!
ReplyDeleteTHAT is hilarious! I think Nathan just wanted a second pic online....
