"be grand"

As much as we try to steer Silas toward boyish movies like 101 Dalmatians or A Bug's Life, his two favorite movies are The Little Mermaid (thanks to a DVD I found on an airplane) and Beauty and the Beast (thanks to Uncle Justin and Aunt Sara, who bought the soundtrack for Ivy for her birthday). And when I say they are his favorite movies, that doesn't quite express the immense amount of LOVE he holds in his little heart for these films. The songs are (naturally) the best part, and he asks that we sing them or play them for him MANY times every day.

Silas loves "Sha la la" (Kiss the Girl) and Be Our Guest, but the song that really gets him excited is "Little Town" from Beauty and the Beast. Feel free to listen below if you need a refresher. Pay special attention to the song at the 4:47 mark. That section is what Silas calls "Be Grand."

And here is our son singing "Be Grand." Lyrics below.

Madame Gaston, can't you just see it?
Madame Gaston, his little wife.
No sir, not me, I guarantee it; I want much more than this provincial life.
*Musical interlude*
I want adventure in the great wide somewhere.
I want it more than I can tell.
*softly now*
And for once it might be grand to have someone understand.
I want so much more than they've got planned.
