Everyone keeps telling me that it's pointless to try potty-training until the child is ready. So I'm waiting!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it, Jess! Aida was the exact same way - there were days of complete frustration and tears (from both of us) and then...break through! So glad we stuck with it because not buying diapers, at least for a few months, is a.ma.zing. I was really concerned that we had started too soon because there was a total disconnect when we started. She would not even acknowledge she had an accident, walk thru it (thus tracking it all over) and continue playing. Then a switch flipped and she just started telling us she had to go. Not sure if this had anything to do with it, but her "break through" happened on a Saturday, so Peter was home and she was getting double the encouragement/attention. Getting to that point was rough though (and being preggo doesn't help)....I think we went through about 10 rolls of paper towels :) Stick with it, you'll be on the other side of it before you know it!
