no surprises here.

You know, being a true full-time mom for the past 3 weeks has been pretty much what I expected. I am so busy that I have no idea how I ever worked 20 hours a week. I still find myself falling into bed exhausted at the end of the day. There are still things that don't get done around the house, and there are still ways that I fail as a wife and as a mom. I still don't have a magical gospel conversation every time my son disobeys. I still get frustrated with the baby at my ankles when I'm trying to get dinner ready.

BUT I have time in the Word every day (almost). I'm doing preschool lessons with Silas. Ivy gets her diaper changed more often. The apartment is markedly cleaner. I'm exercising regularly. I take naps occasionally rather than just pumping my body with caffeine when the afternoon drag hits.

I am more joyful, more content, more intentional with my time. What a sweet, sweet new season.
