a long overdue 4th of july post

I'm sorry.  This has been the longest drought in the lugbill family blog history.  Life has been completely nuts.  But I feel like things may be getting back to normal now.  I have some great pics from our vacation but am waiting for some more from my sister...so for now we will talk of other things. :)

Like the 4th of July!  We went with our good friends the Van Steenburghs (below) to the neighborhood arts fair/live music/parade/inflatable games extravaganza.  And wow was it a party.

My were there lots of dogs.  Silas was in heaven.  But there was one thing that overshadowed even the dogs...the pool of plastic ducks. We still aren't really sure why he loved them so much, but he would have played here all day if we hadn't gotten bored ourselves.

During the parade, we ran into our sweet friends the Grusys and got to meet little Lydia!  Look at all that dark hair!  Here are both girls decked out in their 4th of July apparel.  Ivy is desperate to hold her hand.
