derby day

Yes, we are true Louisvillians now, having participated in our first Derby Party. It would have been fun to go the REAL race, but spending hundreds of dollars on entertainment isn't currently in the budget for most seminarians. SO...our friends the Moffats hosted a derby party, complete with (virgin) mint juleps, Derby pie, and hot browns, horse picks, and a paper racetrack for us to race our own horses. And of course, we had to all dress in "derby attire."

Our sweet friends the Smethursts were also in attendance.

Here are those yummy hot browns!

What a fun idea, Moffats!

  5. Forgot to mention where I got the hat! Silas' therapist, Michelle, kindly lent it to me. So Kate, I won't be wearing it again. It was super cute and really fun to wear for something like this, but let's be honest...I wouldn't dare to wear something so crazy except on Derby Day!
