I believe you will find this video adorable, not just because it features Duncan singing with no pants on, but also because of the contagious belly laughs our eldest is prone to.
Please allow me to take a moment for our third child. This kid is expressive, sincere, and very, very busy. He is always content when allowed to roam. Favorite things include...
- Anything that is not a toy.
- Helping Daddy fix things.
- Washing dishes. This involves pulling up a chair to the counter (unasked) and dropping every dish into the sink, splashing around with a rag or sponge, and cleaning the counter (and floor and chair and any clothing nearby) very thoroughly. We prefer this to happen when Mommy or Daddy is also washing dishes.
- Fetching things. He went and found both his boots today in the shoe bin when I told him it was time to go bye-bye.
- Climbing. Nothing is out of reach anymore.
- Scaring Mommy (see above). We have found him standing on the bathroom counter, dining table, or kitchen island when quiet for too long.
- Jabbering. He is always saying something unintelligible very emphatically.
- Talking quite a bit! Our favorite phrases of his are all done, there you go, thank you, and need help.
- Reading books to himself. Right-side-up or upside-down, either way.
- Wrestling with his siblings.
I am constantly shocked by how independent this kid is already. I am thankful since number 4 will be here before we know it, but also a little sad that my baby doesn't need me much anymore! Duncan is a joy to parent, and we are so thankful for him!
