unexpectedly expecting.
Yes, it's true. We are expecting #4! It took us a bit to adjust to this news about the next little gift the Lord is bestowing on us, but I think now we are getting pretty excited. Certainly Ivy is excited, to put it mildly. She is forever kissing and hugging my belly (which is already expanding significantly) and asking when we can go to the hospital. Nine months is a really, really, really long time to a 2 1/2-year old. Though we feel a little overwhelmed thinking of having four under five, we are so encouraged by the independence we are beginning to see in our older two. They can dress themselves, follow directions, pick up all their toys...I mean, life is good. Plus we are down to one in diapers (finally). Now we just need to eliminate the occasional public tantrums, or I don't think I will ever leave the house with the kids by myself. Silas had a screaming fit at the library a few weeks ago and I literally could not get all the kids outside by myself. I had to call my husband for backup. Now THAT'S a humbling moment as a parent. Anyway...still trying to figure out whether we want to find out the sex of this baby. Will keep you posted. First ultrasound is tomorrow, and we are being brave and bringing the kiddos along to see. Should be fun...right? :)

Oh, Jess!! I just read your news. Congratulations!! You and Nathan are so brave and have all my respect. It's funny how having ONE baby changes your perspective on having kids. Mike and I definitely want another (or two), but one for now is about all I can handle. I am so happy for you both and will be looking forward to reading more about your new addition. :)
