from alabama to kentucky

I apologize for the lack of posts! We (Silas & I) left for vacation in Alabama on June 20th. Nathan attended the Southern Baptist Convention with CHBC staff and then joined us later in the week. It was beyond wonderful to spend time with my mom's side of the family. We had a fantastic week of relaxing, games, good talks, and plenty of laughter. Silas was a big hit. He did dip his toes into the Gulf, but crying immediately followed. Below are some great pictures my Aunt Darlene took. I have more to post, but unfortunately my camera cord is already packed away somewhere, and I don't have the energy or motivation to tear through boxes looking for it...So I guess these will have to suffice for now.
On a very sad note, today was our last Sunday worshipping with our beloved church family. Mark preached an awesome sermon on Revelation 20 on the coming judgment of a holy God and the eternal blessings of trusting Christ as Savior. Packing is going very well. Nathan should take credit for that; he has done probably 2/3 of it. We are down to a few boxes' worth of stuff in the kitchen and then will be left with just the essentials. I even bought some microwave dinners (yuk!) for this week so I don't have to use pots and pans. Mom will fly into Baltimore on Friday night. Saturday some friends are coming to help load the truck, and Nathan will drive it to Louisville, where we have another batch of friends who will help unload at 9:00 that night. Mom, Silas, & I will take our time driving the car, and then we will spend a few days unpacking. Whew.
Thanks for your prayers and encouragement during this time of transition. I think it will be much harder to leave than we (at least, I) anticipated. We know that the Lord has wonderful things in store for us in Louisville, but DC will always be close to our hearts as the place where we began our married life together, gave birth to our first son, fell in love with a church congregation, and grew immensely in grace and truth. Praise God for his rich blessings!
"Mimi, what's the point? The sun is so bright that I can't even see, and they don't make swim diapers small enough for me. Can't I just go inside and take a nap instead?"
Our little man. :)

It's our turn to make dinner for the entire Wilson crew.

Showing off his muscles with his tank top.

We thought Silas was taking a nap in the bedroom. Little did we know that his adoring cousins were keeping such careful watch over him. :)

Proud Mimi & Papa.

The two lovebirds who made it all happen. 50 years and they still smooch in front of their grandkids!

Here Nathan is reinforcing his status as the "cool" in-law by building a sand castle. With a moat, I might add.

Hooray for good talks with sisters...

The ladies took a break from the sand volleyball to make a welcome pyramid for Nathan when he arrived in Alabama.

I just love this. Andy looks thrilled.

The whole clan!

We missed Daddy.

Praise and prayer time w/ the fam.

Burp, baby!

We are playing our favorite "Name Game". Grandma is the best at this one. You can tell that she takes it very seriously by the way she is looking at me so intently, trying to guess who I am.

Love these girls! Is it just me, or did my mother lose her Caucasian ethnicity somewhere in Alabama?

Trevor and I were very dedicated on this trip.
Trevor's mission: Football Conditioning.
My mission: Lose The Baby Fat.
I know it probably doesn't look like it from these pictures, but I actually have come a very long way! Only 10 more pounds to go...

Poor Silas. The beach isn't really his thing.
